Steve's Family History

This is a blog to record my attempts to trace my family history. Maybe it will be of interest to other members of my family - especially those who are also researching their own family tree.

BMD Certificates scanned and uploaded

I've gone through the entire web site and added scans of all the certificates I've got. There's rather a lot!

Trying to trace Isaac DADDS - father and son.

Isaac DADDS married Ann Philpotts in 1864 in Bristol Register Office, although both were born in Swimbridge, Devon. On the marriage certificate his father is listed as Isaac DADDS, Ag Lab, deceased. From the 1881 census I calculate that Isaac jnr was born in 1841.

International Genealogical Index lists Isaac DADDS marrying a Mary in Swimbridge, Devon in 1840 but I've not been able to trace that record, nor a record of Isaac's birth. So I've listed what DADDS were registered in Barnstaple to see if any of these are children of the elusive Isaac & Mary DADDS

More certificates from Neil Lister

Neil has sent me copies of certificates for Thomas and Elizabeth LISTER's children. This confirms many of the details of their births, marriages and deaths. Thanks Neil!

Hannah has started uploading her family tree

Hannah has now started uploading her family tree. She was interested in genealogy research before I started so has a lot of information to publish. Unlike my lot who stayed in the south-west hers are spread all over the UK, Ireland, India and the USA.

Web site makeover complete

Well I spent a lot of time over the weekend (just ask Hannah!) and all the pages on the site are now updated in the new style. I think it looks a whole lot better.

There are still gaps in some of the family pages where I have to add census details or certificate links. I will get around to that in due course in the meantime please take a look and tell me what you think...

Web site gets a makeover

I've been so impressed with the "Scribe" style used by my blog that I'm in the process of converting the web site to match. Unfortunately it is taking a while so please bear with me if I am quiet for a few days. Eventually it should make moving back and forth between web site and blog seamless.
